Months before we left, the UNO
Club decided to hold our usual bi-monthly game on Saturday March
18th because we all figured that Cathy and myself could be back at
the Uno table by starting time: 6:00 pm. Our big white limo
pulled up only 10 minutes late!
The night before we hung out at Old Town. A
band named Rip Tide played on the Town's stage while we held the best
seats around - right in front of the stage and in front of a sandwich
shop. Actually we sat at the shop's outside counter. Munching
on franks we watched the show and the attractions like a 200 foot
swing ride that captured our fancy. Old Town is also a small
town-like community where two or three times each week the locals
(about 100 of them) ride around the streets in parade fashion showing
off collectible cars. As everyone knows, if it has four wheels
and goes it's all I need for a ride. But Cathy is an enthusiast
and loved watching the cars and looking under the hoods. We shoped
the stores and purchased a few pictures for Ye Olde's LADIES'
room.
Early to bed and early to rise we were at the
airport almost 3 hours before we needed to be. But we wanted to
explore the airport. Cathy was amazed by Orlando's
International and I haven't spent any time browseing around it since Dennie
and I took a some extra time way back in 1984. By and far, it
was the better of the best 'travel' vacation I ever experienced.
Special thanks to the Beavers and Pat, Mindy and PJ and very warm
thanks to Yvonne who really took time to make sure Cathy and I had
everything at our fingertips.

Don't get confused by the counter, we are outdoors at Old Town. |
Tjhe stage sits at the end of a street. Hot Dog stand is in front of the sandwich shop. View from our 'counter' seat. |
Certainly not my best shot. I was trying to show you the inside of the sandwich shop. |
|
We ended the night with a BLT inside the shop. Cathy shows off her little "Love Bug." |
The SHipwreck Bar at Orlando International. Mickey doesn't want to leave Florida. |
The first sight as you enter Orlando International. The Hyatt Hotel right inside the main terminal. |

At Gate 95 awaiting boarding. |
Grabed the camera too late to capture Fire Island. Here's Dowling College. |
Doesn't look like it, but is just a closer view of Dowling College area. |
